CNSC Winter Programs for ’06-’07
The following is preliminary information
on CNSC programs for the Winter of 06-07. Details will follow as we find out how many skiers
are interested in each program. Fees listed are above and beyond
the basic membership fee.
- Introductory [or Bill Koch League]
Kids’ Skiing:
for kids aged 5 to 12 who would like to improve their skiing technique
and speed. Meet two weekdays, after school. Additional sessions on
some weekends if there is interest. Coach: Amyanne Johnson. Cost:
$50.
- Competitive Junior Racer Training:
for kids aged 7 to 13 who are serious about training and racing.
This program is geared for kids who plan to try some races including
the New England Bill Koch Festival. This program will also prepare interested
kids to move up into CNSC’s competitive year-round Advanced Junior
training and racing program when they are ready. Meet two weekdays,
after school. Coach: Daniela Nachazelova and others. Cost:
$75. Note: there will be additional weekend sessions with Pepa,
when possible.
- Advanced Junior Training & Racing
Program: this
is our ongoing coaching program for our top junior racers. Race
support, waxing advice, access to the CNSC Wax trailer and EZ-up tent
are all included! Days: usually Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday,
but this will vary according to race schedule. Coach: Pepa Miloucheva. Cost
for Fall/Winter: $150. Additional tax-deductible donations welcome. Note:
this is a flat rate for the entire season. No partial or prorated fees
available.
- Competitive Masters Racer Training: Pepa
will again offer a series of monthly technique clinics for masters
skiers. Sessions
will include on-snow coaching by Pepa, both skate and classic; followed
by indoor video analysis and Training talk. Dates tbd. Fee:
$100 covers the entire series.
- Masters Weekly Training:
Given sufficient interest, we hope to set up some weekly Masters
training days and times. Please
let us know if you are interested in this. No additional fee.
- Recreational Masters/Seniors: If there is
sufficient interest, we will set up a couple days/times per week when
recreational Masters skiers can get together for a group ski. No
additional fee.
- Pre-Christmas Junior Training
Camp – Dec. 22-24: It’s
become a holiday tradition for CNSC to hold an overnight Junior Training
Camp just before Christmas. The camp focuses on helping kids establish
good technique and training at the beginning of the season. It
will be coached by Pepa Miloucheva, assisted by other coaches as needed
to accommodate all interested kids. There will be videotaping
and analysis of both skate and classic techniques. Meals
and lodging provided by Craftsbury Outdoor Center. Schedule & cost:
tbd. If you are interested in this camp, please indicate on the
attached membership form and we will keep you posted as plans develop.
Note: For all programs, scholarships are available for those who need
them.
